Restart the battle and ensure that your Daughters are camping the spot where the evac point appears. If you manage to see the evac point but you’ve taken horrendous losses, just hit Alt+F4. The good news is that Alt+F4 can save the day. The thing is, enemies will spawn in droves all over the map, so you could find yourself cornered until all hope is lost. That’s when you’ll see the evac point that allows you to exit the level. The goal in Othercide‘s survival missions is to play defensively until the HUD counter reaches zero. Within a turn or so, more will spawn so make sure to adjust your strategy accordingly. Think of them as your usual “elimination” or “skirmish” modes in turn-based tactical games since all you need to do is kill a specific number of enemies on the map.Īt the start of a Hunt, only a few enemies will be available. Hunt missions are the easiest type in Othercide since they’re so simple and straightforward. Note 2: Missions award XP based on the number/types of enemies a Daughter killed or how active they were. Additionally, if you make mistakes, you can hit Alt+F4 - reload your save and you’ll see that the mission has been restarted. Note 1: Abandoning any mission will automatically kill all Daughters that are part of that ill-fated squad. Additionally, some missions will only let you bring a select number of Daughters. Don’t let fool you because some mission types are more annoying that the game implies.

Mission difficulty will range from challenging, hard, then, finally, impossible. Bear in mind that reaching a chapter’s seventh day will no longer have any doable missions except for a boss fight. It’s possible to do multiple missions in a given day, but a Daughter may only partake in one. To progress to the next day, you’ll need to complete at least one mission of any type. Othercide: Checking out the game’s missionsĪs cited in our beginner’s guide, each chapter or era in Othercide has seven days.

Some might feel tough yet they remain manageable, while others will make you pull out all your hairs in frustration. They are known as Hunt, Rescue, Survival, and Ritual. Also, all of this does not apply to monster's first action, as they are unable to attack on their first action on the map (this also has some exceptions and rules).Othercide has four mission types with particular objectives. This pic might illustrate it better(this one should apply on some or all era 1 melee monsters: doctors, guards, butchers, scavengers): Įdit: one more thing to add, if a monster can't move and melee you, meaning you are touching the zone but on safe corner, they will never end their turn next to you and will instead cut their movement by 1 tile.probably to not be subject to melee from you.

Later monsters have either more than 100 AP or lower movement cost, so they move further, but same rules should apply. To calculate AP cost of moving to a tile, orthogonal movement costs 7 AP, diagonal 10 AP. If a corner takes 1 AP more to get to than straight diagonal max, then its safe, otherwise it isn't. As for corners, it's not all corners either, a straight diagonal corner from enemy position is not safe (ever), other corners depend. If you touch a side of any tile the enemy can move to, they can attack you. Touching the enemy move zone is possible, but only if you touch corners. If you are concerned with only normal melee monsters, that have no unpredictable skills like Ravager Leap, here are the rules (this is nothing official just observations and testing):īeing a tile away from enemy move zone is always safe, be careful as their zone might sometimes expand after you move, so check.
